Financial Garden’s Mission

Our mission is to improve the financial health of communities. The seed is the child, the plant is the family and the garden is the community!

Our Environment

We create a nurturing, non-judgemental zone for students to ask any questions that they have about money. We are sensitive of the uniqueness of every child. Financial Garden’s objective is to enhance every child’s financial schema (building blocks of knowledge). We host an engaging parent’s night before classes are held with students to let parents know the financial literacy growth that they should expect to see in their children throughout the program.

Learn By Doing

Financial Garden students actually are given to apply learning concepts through simulations, interactive activities and games!

We focus on 6 areas of financial seed planting:

  • Financial Decision Making (Emotions and Money)
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Budgeting
  • Banking Basics
  • Debt Fundamentals
  • Investing Basics

From Our Founder

“I founded Financial Garden during my journey of eliminating nearly $80k of debt before the age of 30. Thanks to my grandmother, I was fully aware of setting and achieving financial goals. However, my peers didn’t have the same financial literacy foundation and struggled to get out of debt.  After working with youth for several years, I realized their lack of financial literacy. I decided to plant seeds of financial literacy at every age by formally founding Financial Garden in 2014. “.
